It’s that time of year again, the East Side Culture Crawl is just two weeks away, and the members in our shop are more pumped than ever. What’s so special about this year you ask? Well, since last year’s crawl there have been some changes, including some new equipment, new members, and all together more motivation.
Over the past few months we have also been developing a new identity for our shop. Together Logan and I, along with Pat Christie, Ben McLaughlin and our newest addition Dave Mason have decided that it’s time to present ourselves as a collective group. We still hold our own style and entities, but united as a group we can build a stronger brand, and ultimately produce better works.
From here on out, the wood shop located at 1295 Frances will now be known as the Yew WoodShop. (Click the logo to go to our new website)
So what’s the deal with Yew? It’s a bit of an inside joke really, but a Yew is a local tree that grows in our region… it’s also the name of the street that Pat, Ben, Logan and I all live on (yes, we are not only shop mates, but room mates too). So, it seemed pretty fitting, it’s local, related to wood, and personal to our group. What more could yew really ask for?
We all hope that you can come by our shop and check out our new stuff at this years crawl, but if you can’t make those dates, don’t forget, we’re also open Monday-Friday 10am-5pm. Look forward to seeing yew soon!
